This is the first picture of the tragic four-month-old baby who died after he and his brother were mauled by a Staffie-type dog.
Little Archie Darby died from his injuries after being attacked by the vicious cross-breed at his auntie’s house in Colchester, Essex. His brother Daniel-Jay, who is 22-months-old, is being treated in a specialist unit for “life-changing injuries”.
Today Archie’s parents paid tribute to their son, saying “heaven has gained a beautiful little angel”. They said: “Our beautiful sons Archie Joe Darby and Daniel-Jay Darby are so, so loved by us all and were such happy little loveable boys … Heaven has gained a beautiful little angel and he will be greatly missed by us all and our other little soldier is still fighting strong.”Cops have launched an investigation after finding the boy and his 22-month-old brother suffering from bite injuries at a home yesterday afternoon. It is believed the Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross belonged to PC Clare Ferdinand, 31, and her husband John, 36. The dog was put to sleep with the owner’s permission. No arrests have been made in connection with the attack.
