Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe carried out brave Bradley Lowery in emotional scenes ahead of the Black Cats’ game with Swansea at the Stadium of Light.
The five-year-old has captured the hearts of the nation with his glowing smile as he continues to fight cancer. Sunderland and Swansea supporters came together to show their support for the youngster, while the Mackems also confirmed proceeds from the programme will be donated to his battle.Black Cats supporters united with their Welsh counterparts to cheer the youngster, with chants of “there’s only one Bradley Lowery” breaking out. ‘We’re with you Bradley’ was also beamed out on the club’s big screen as well. Bradley has appeared as a mascot for Sunderland and England this season and this latest appearance comes after his mum revealed the five-year-old’s cancer has “progressed a lot”.
