There was devastating news in EastEnders last night.Whitney Dean and Lee Carter have lost their unborn baby in a heartbreaking storyline. The young couple received the tragic news after Whitney had started experiencing stomach cramps and bleeding.
Although Whitney and the Carters tried their best to stay optimistic as they rushed to the hospital, it was later confirmed that Whitney had suffered a miscarriage. Whitney had Lee by her side as she was given an ultrasound which revealed the heartbreaking news.
Whitney was then whisked off for an operation as a precaution, leaving the Carters struggling badly as they tried to process what had happened. EastEnders didn’t announce the emotional storyline ahead of transmission, meaning that Whitney and Lee’s sad loss will have come as a surprise to many fans.
Shona McGarty and Danny-Boy Hatchard, who play Whitney and Lee, are already receiving praise for their powerful performances which comes during Baby Loss Awareness Week; we’ll see how their characters cope in the next few weeks.
