Coronation Street fans were left reeling as the soap was hit by a character’s death in yesterday’s episodes.  In the salon, Audrey informed David that his next appointment had been cancelled – because she’d died. David was sad to hear Mrs Moss had passed away, saying: “I have her a purple rinse every month for years.” He added: “At one time, I convinced her to embrace the grey and take on a side parting.”

But it wasn’t the only “death” to happen on tonight’s visit to Weatherfield, as Sally Metcalfe’s trolls took things up a notch. As she was excitedly getting ready for a big interview with a local glossy magazine, she was told to check the newspaper. But rather than a complimentary article about her, she found something truly shocking – an obituary. Witnessing her own death, Sally read: “Sally Metcalfe aged 49 died suddenly from cancer.”

It comes just weeks after she was targeted by a sick prankster who told her that her breast cancer had returned. Sally turned on one of her colleagues, Jenny, and accused her of planting the cruel article. But Jenny told her: “Sally, none of us would do anything to hurt you.”
