An EastEnders star has spoken about how her addiction to Coca-Cola resulted in her losing five teeth.38-year-old BAFTA nominee Kierston Wareing has admitted she drank seven cans a day for 15 years before eventually quitting and replacing the sugary fizzy drink with Wispa chocolate bars instead. “I was on two and a half litres of full fat Coca-Cola a day,” Kierston told the Mirror.
But my teeth have been suffering, I had a warning a year ago, but I didn’t take it seriously. “A year later and I have had five teeth come out. It’s been so painful, I’ve been waking up in agony and it is all down to Coca-Cola. I had an addiction to it.
“I would wake up in the middle of the night and I would crave a can of Coke. Then I would get up in the morning and the first thing I’d drink is a can of Coke. I’ve brought all this on myself.” The actress – who played Kirsty Branning in the BBC soap from 2012 to 2014 – also revealed that her dentist told her she has an addiction to sugar after switching Coke for Wispa bars.
“The dentist thought I would be affected when I stopped drinking it, but I haven’t. They said: ‘What have you done differently?’ I have four Wispas a day now. They said: ‘You’re not addicted to Coke, you have a sugar addiction.'”
