BBC bosses have confirmed that a cast regular is soon to depart the popular soap – however they won’t say when.
Ben Hardy, who has played Peter Beale, will be leaving EastEnders at the end of his current contract.
Peter Beale’s sister was murdered by an unknown attacker, but despite betting being suspended on several characters and rumours flying around, the BBC is remaining tight-lipped about the identity of the character, saying all will be revealed in due course on a special live episode to be broadcast in February of next year.
Ben Hardy joined the show in June 2013 and will leave at the end of his current contract. The news comes days after the actor who plays Johnny Carter, Sam Strike, will be leaving the show.
Sources have reported that Ben Hardy is being lined up for Bryan Singer’s X-Men:Apocalype where is likely to be cast as a young Cyclops.
