EastEnders fans weren’t quite sure how to feel after last night’s episode.1trianglePatrick Trueman dumped villainous Claudette Hubbard for Dot Branning and while viewers admired that he had stuck up for his friend (or more?), they were equally baffled by the slightly strange love triangle that had emerged.  Complaining that Patrick had stood her up, Claudette fumed: “Have you actually lost your mind? Sitting in here with a greasy fry-up? What the-”

But Patrick couldn’t take it anymore and interrupted her: “Sorry I had forgotten lunch. Well you know what? I would have cancelled it anyway … you are an evil woman. You have an evil heart, an evil mind and a nasty tongue and I don’t want to spend the rest of my time around a woman like that.”

Patrick concluded: “Haven’t I made myself clear, woman? I don’t want to be with you and I don’t want to spend anymore time with you. And now if you’ll excuse me, my dear, I’d like to finish my lunch with someone I do.” Claudette later packed her suitcases up and appeared to have decided to leave for good.

Fans were angered by Claudette’s rudeness about Dot – but equally confused by the odd love triangle that had come about.  Dudley Cruse tweeted: “Wait. Hold on. Are Dot and Claudette competing over Patrick? Weirdest love triangle ever #eastenders” while Debbie Ashby said: “#eastenders never thought I’d see dot in a love triangle go Patrick for seeing sense”
