Jihadi John said David Haines had to “pay the price” for Britain’s decisions and then he brutally murdered him, beheading him and releasing the terrifying footage.
In a film similar to the ones showing the murders of James Foley and Steven Sotloff, Mr Haines is shown kneeling and reading a statement condemning UK and US policies towards ISIS while Jihadi John stands in the background brandishing a large knife. Mr Haines is dressed in an orange jumpsuit in the film and handcuffed; he appears pale and drawn.
The film is titled “A Message To The Allies Of America” and begins with footage of Prime Minister David Cameron discussing the UK’s policies on ISIS before that clip cuts out and switches to David Haines.
In a voice full of emotion he says: “My name is David Cawthorne Haines. I would like to declare that I hold you David Cameron entirely responsible for my execution. You entered voluntarily into a coalition with the United States against the Islamic State just as your predecessor Tony Blair did following a trend amongst our British Prime Minsters who can’t find the courage to say no to the Americans. Unfortunately it is we the British public who will pay the price for our Parliament’s selfish decisions.”
Then Jihadi John, dressed all in black, speaks to the camera with his now-notorious London accent. Gesticulating with his knife throughout his rant, he says: “This British man has to the pay the price for your promise Cameron to arm the Peshmerga against the Islamic State. Ironically, he has spent a decade of his life serving under the same Royal Air Force that is responsible for delivering those arms.
“Your evil alliance with America which continues to strike the Muslims of Iraq and most recently bombed the Haditha Dam will only accelerate your destruction and playing the role of the obedient lapdog Cameron will only drag you and your people into another bloody and unwinnable war.”
The video then shows the beginning of the appalling death of Mr Haines, as the extremist begins to cut his throat. The footage fades to black at this point, before fading back up to show the head of Mr Haines lying on his bloodied corpse.
