Jon Broni left victims feeling “tricked and sullied”

22 year-old Jon Broni persuaded the teenage girls that “you can’t help who you fall in love with” and indulged in relationships with two 15 year-olds at the same time; neither of the girls knew he was sleeping with the other.

Manchester Crown Court heard that Broni had been given permission by the parents of one of the girls to date her on the understanding there was no sexual relations “until she was ready.” However, both girls consented to sex, despite being underage.

Both girls ended up feeling “tricked and sullied” and when one of their mothers discovered an intimate photo on her daughter’s phone, showing her naked in a shower. The police were quickly involved and Broni has now been convicted of having sexual relations with the underage girls.

Broni was spared prison, however, as the judge said he had had the “fulsome consent” of both teenagers. He was sentenced to a three-year community order with a requirement to attend a sex offenders’ programme; he is also subject to a five-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
