Two children are receiving psychiatric care after they witnessed the horrific sight of their parents falling to their deaths from a cliff.
The Polish couple were enjoying a holiday in Portugal and decided to take a selfie posing at a popular beauty spot at Cabo da Roca on the country’s west coast. As the five and six year-old watched on in horror, the couple slipped or stumbled over the edge, falling 80 metres to their deaths.
The children have been in the care of the Polish embassy since the accident on Saturday; their parents’ bodies could not be recovered straight away, due to the worsening weather conditions near the coast.
The recovery operation began again early on Sunday morning, with a recovery team starting the anguishing procedure at about 7am.
