Coronation Street have followed up their message of support to the Manchester terror attack victims with a touching tribute.

Following Monday’s bomb attack at the MEN Arena, in which 22 people died, the show pledged to dedicate a bench on its famous street to the memory of those who lost their lives and were injured. Announcing the news on the soap’s official Twitter account, show runners revealed that they planned to remember everyone affected by the attack with the move.

“We will be dedicating a bench on the Coronation Street set to remember everyone affected by the Manchester bombing,” the message read. It was tweeted alongside a picture the account had screened at the end of the show the night before. The photograph with the words ‘We Stand Together’ was shown in place of the usual sponsorship bumper after the credits at the end of the show.
