There’s something about firemen. Small kids (and many a grown-up) just seem to love them. Little Brandon Green proved to be no exception during an incident which saw his worried mum, Kirsty, having to enlist the help of the fire service to rescue her 18-month-old son from her car.

Kirsty, 27, from Bude, had been unloading a Lidl shop into the boot of her car when cheeky Brandon managed to trap himself in the vehicle. Proving toddlers have a knack for getting themselves into awkward positions, the tot had somehow succeeded in activating the central locking system – and Kirsty’s keys were in the boot.

The fire service duly attended the supermarket car park in Bude and began using small hand tools to free Brandon, eventually smashing a window when Brandon put a coin in his mouth. But not only was he entertained by the burly firemen – but it looks like he entertained them too. Kirsty added, “They were amazing, and I think just as much as they were keeping Brandon entertained, he was equally making them laugh.”
