A British holidaymaker died in a freak “queue-jumping” accident at Ibiza airport after he allegedly tried to hurdle a barrier at passport control. The 51-year-old tourist, had just touched down on the Spanish island on a flight from Manchester.

According to Diario de Ibiza , the man was in a queue at the passport control point when he “leapt over one of the barriers”. It was reported he tripped and smashed his head on the concrete floor.

A doctor who happened to be a passenger on the same flight rushed to the man’s aid, together with National police officers and emergency medics. They tried to revive the British holidaymaker, but despite desperate efforts he could not be saved and was declared dead at the scene.
