A British Airways flight has been forced to return to London Heathrow after a “technical fault”. The flight, BA752 from Heathrow to Basel, left on Thursday morning about 7.40am but was forced to turn around soon after.
A British Airways spokesperson said: “The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority, and our flight returned to the airport due to a suspected technical fault with the aircraft. We have apologised to our customers and are providing another aircraft so they can continue their journey as soon as possible.”
It is unclear how far the flight had got before it was forced to turn around but there have been unconfirmed reports online that the flight had to return due to smoke filling the cabin.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed they were called at 8.41am and the passengers have since boarded a new aircraft.
