The man, estimated to be in his late 30s, was found on railway tracks at Nuneaton some time after the discovery of the woman’s murder at the Premier Inn on Wilkinson Road in Kempston on Saturday morning.

A murder enquiry has been launched and police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death. A post-mortem is due to take place later today.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Brunning said: “I can confirm that officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with both deaths. However, the enquiry will now proceed on behalf of HM Coroner who will conduct an inquest in due course which will outline the circumstances surrounding the investigation.”

Police refused to release any further details pending formal identification of both people and notification of next of kin.
