A young woman and six year-old child were rushed to hospital after a vicious attack in Walthamstow, North London, yesterday.
A 26 year-old woman was discovered at her home in Hatherley Road in Walthamstow with stabbing injuries on her arm and neck. With her was a six year-old child who had minor injuries. The emergency services were alerted at 3pm yesterday and both were transported to hospital, where the woman remains in a critical condition.
A spokesman for Waltham Forest CID, DCI Philip Langworthy of Waltham Forest made a statement, hinting that the woman knew her attacker: “We are investigating a serious assault on a young woman. The motive remains unclear at this stage but we do not believe this is a random attack.
“People living and working nearby may have seen something that could be of vital importance to investigators. I would urge anyone with information to contact Waltham Forest CID or Crimestoppers.”
