A man and woman have been stabbed just yards from the British Museum, eyewitness report.

The knife fight broke out in a group, all believed to be French, who were brawling at the Old Crown pub. One man is now fighting for his life in hospital, while the woman is receiving treatment for minor injuries to her leg.

Photos from the scene show a towel soaked in blood on the street outside, with more blood staining the pavement around it. Local shopworker Aaron Prasad, 32, recalled: “They were all French and the main victim didn’t have a top on. “They were carrying him in a stretcher to the ambulance where they worked on him for over an hour.”
