Reports have been received that the father of Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman, has been killed in an accident.
Dr Kidman was a respected clinical psychologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Australia and was also a director of health psychology at Sydney’s University of Technology. He was also widely published in academic papers and journals and a regular guest on television and radio programmes. In 2005, he was awarded the Order of Australia for his services to psychology.
Dr Anthony Kidman was visiting his daughter Antonia, Nicole’s sister, in Singapore, when he suffered a fatal fall and “died suddenly.” Antonia Kidman, who is Nicole’s younger sister, lives in Singapore with her husband Craig Marran and their six children. It is thought the accident happened in a Singapore hotel room.
Dr Kidman celebrated his Golden Wedding Anniversary with his wife Janelle in January and in June this year appeared on the red carpet with Nicole and her husband Keith Urban at Melbourne’s Swisse Celebrate Life Ball.
