Police were called to “an incident” at an address on Sherwin Road in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday evening at approximately 6.35pm after a neighbour was heard screaming for help after she came across the tragic deaths.

Police officers have said that all three victims – as yet unnamed – were pronounced dead at the scene. It is thought that the mother was Polish and her two children were thought to be aged about 3 and a year-and-a-half.

Once the initial horrific discovery had been made, another neighbour, a nurse, was quickly on the scene to see if she could help, but the young family was already dead.

Another woman who lives next door is a nurse, and she’d been inside too and checked their pulse, but they were all dead.”
