The M25 is facing hours of traffic chaos this evening after police were scrambled to a serious incident.
Police were called to reports of a serious assault at the Shell petrol station at Cobham Services, Surrey. A man is reported to have suffered serious head injuries in the incident. An air ambulance has been called to the scene and has airlifted the injured man to hospital. The services on both sides of the carriageway, between junctions 9 and 10, were shut by officers.
A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at around 3.30pm this afternoon to a man who had been injured at Cobham Services at the petrol station area. A man had suffered a head injury and an ambulance and air ambulance crews are at the scene. The man has recently been airlifted in the last 30 minutes to St George’s Hospital in Tooting with serious head injuries.”
