Police investigating missing Corrie McKeague have arrested a man on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice. The 23-year-old gunner, who was stationed at RAF Honington in Suffolk, vanished on a night out in Bury St Edmunds in September last year.
Police said the man was arrested today and is 26 years old. A statement said: “He has been taken into custody where he will be interviewed on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice relating to information provided to the investigation.”
He is not the driver of the bin lorry that collected rubbish from the area where Mr McKeague was last seen, added police. Mr McKeague, originally from Fife, was last recorded on CCTV entering the cul-de-sac ‘horseshoe’ at 3.25am, but there was no sign of his leaving. He had become separated from his friends after leaving a nightclub.
