An attacker wielding a knife has attacked police officers. The man is said to have been shouting “Allahu Akbar” as he launched his attack.
The incident took place in an area between the Moroccan town of Beni Enzar and the Spanish-controlled city of Melilla. The nationality of the attacker has not yet been determined, according to local media. The attacker is believed to be a Moroccan citizen.
Spanish Interior Minister Juan Ignacio Zoido confirmed the incident on Twitter: “[Spanish] police arrested a man who attacked police officers with a knife at the border crossing of Beni Enzar,” Zoido said, adding that one of the officers was slightly injured.
