There was panic in Kings Cross in London when a car mounted the pavement and crashed into pedestrians.
Dramatic pictures from the scene by the major railway station show shocked onlookers surrounding a vehicle with a smashed windscreen. One witness described “screaming and uncertainty” as the incident unfolded. The car eventually crashed through a shop window.
At least one pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital, the Metropolitan Police confirmed. Emergency services arrived on Pentonville Road shortly after 7pm this evening; an air ambulance team was deployed to deal with the situation. Police are investigating.
