Pupils from a high school near Burton have been involved in a serious collision while on an art trip this morning, it has been confirmed. The Year 9 and Year 12 pupils from John Taylor High School, in Barton under Needwood, have been involved in a “serious road accident” a spokesman from the school has confirmed.
It is unclear where the accident happened or if any pupils have been injured, although witnesses report the air ambulance has attended. Parents are anxiously seeking information about their children on social media.
A statement has been made in a text to parents which said: “Please be aware that a number of our Year 9 and Year 12 students on an art trip have been involved in a serious road traffic accident this morning. We are working to support those directly affected … More information will be provided via the school website.” The website said the school was “unclear of specific details and are awaiting confirmation from the authorities”.
