Police have been called to reports of an acid attack in East London. Officers were flagged down in Bethnal Green at around 7pm by the two men who were hurt in the incident – who are believed to be in their late teens.
Several emergency vehicles were seen, including fire engines. Videos emerged on social media of a topless male victim having water poured on him as panic-stricken locals attempt to help.
Another man without a shirt could be seen sitting nearby as he was checked over by ambulance workers. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that officers were called to the area after reports of an attack with a “noxious substance”.
