Two British nationals, thought at this time to be students from Newcastle University, have been stabbed to death in Borneo in Malaysia.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has confirmed that it is aware of the murders, having been informed yesterday.  Local reports claim that they are both men, aged 22 and 23 and that they were attacked by a group of locals.  The names of the victims have not yet been released, pending police investigations and informing the families.

Four Malaysian suspects have been arrested by police and a knife, thought to be the murder weapon, has been recovered.  A local police officer in Kurching told a local news outlet: “The suspects followed the victims when they left the pub and attacked them.”
