An RAF Tornado

British Tornado jets launched a bombing raid on building that is being used by Islamic State terrorists.

The building in Iraq was bombed by two RAF planes that used Paveway guided bombs to attack the militant terrorist forces who have been firing on Iraqi troops near Ramadi, a city in central Iraq approximately 110 kilometres west of Baghdad.

Ramadi has seen intense fighting after Islamic State terrorists ambushed and destroyed a large Iraqi Army column in a village just North of Ramadi.

The Minstry of Defence said that the Tornados, which are based at Akrotiri air base in Cyprus, have resumed their sorties supporting local ground forces after a short suspension for the Muslim holiday Eid.
