The FIA president has delivered some incredibly encouraging news about the Formula 1 star Michael Schumacher.
Schumacher has been seriously ill since a ski-ing accident in December left him in a coma. After some evidence of recovery his family moved him back home to continue his recuperation, but little news of how the seven times World Champion is faring has been released recently.
However, Jean Todt, who has been a close friend of 45 year-old Schumacher, has been to visit him at his home in Switzerland and in a recent interview with Belgian broadcaster RTL which happened shortly after his return from Schumacher’s Lake Geneva home, Mr Todt delivered the encouraging news.
“We may assume that Schumacher can live a relatively normal life within a short period of time,” reported the FIA president. “What we can say is that he will probably never again drive a Formula One car.”
“He fights. His condition improves, which is very important, as is the fact that he is now home with his family.”
