Police are investigating after a 14-year-old boy died after falling in during a school detention. The pupil, named as Nasar Ahmed, died yesterday afternoon after falling ill at Bow School in east London.
The family of the teenager say he was placed in detention after he accidentally tipped over a bin during a fight between two boys. The family say they were told in the morning that their son would be in detention for the day including 45 minutes after class.
It was during the after-school detention that the teenager became unwell. His family claim he started to panic which led to an asthma attack. He was then taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital where he later died.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said that the “death is being treated as unexplained at this time.” She added that a post mortem examination would be carried out.
