A boy was pictured being hosed down by firefighters yards from Kensington Palace this morning after a suspected acid attack. Police and firefighters rushed to the scene shortly before 10.30am this morning.
The 17-year-old cyclist can be seen in dramatic images being doused in water. A police officer held his hands as a fire crew attended to the boy – near the family home of William and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The shirtless boy seemingly left his bike on the grass nearby as emergency services treated him. The Metropolitan Police said the boy was taken to hospital after being sprayed with an “unknown substance”. A spokesman said: “We were called today to reports of a person being sprayed with an unknown substance in The Broadway, Kensington Gardens. London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended the scene. A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital as a precaution.”
