A teenage boy is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering a brutal gang rape ordeal.
Five men were arrested and charged in connection with the horrific attack which happened at a party on Sunday. The attack was filmed on a mobile phone and distributed among the attackers. Police are investigating whether the footage was shared on social media.
After the terrifying assault, which happened in Hopkinsville, a town in Kentucky, approximately 75 miles North-West of Nashville, the men were charged with counts of serious sexual assault, promoting a sexual performance by a minor and use of a minor in sexual performance.
Three of the five men, Tyler Perry, 19, Dayton Ross Jones, 20, and Samuel Miller, 18 are being held at Christian County Jail on bonds of $1 million each. Two seventeen year-old men are also being held. Authorities said that Perry has also been charged with tampering with physical evidence and Jones and Miller will face additional charges of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
The victim, who was critically injured in the assault, remains in hospital. While he is being investigated, one of the arrested men, Dayton Ross Jones, has been dismissed from the Arkansas State University golf team.
